Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park - Columbus, Ohio December 5, 2021 I spend a lot of time hating on winter. I had a rough adjustment back to Ohio and Kentucky winters after living in Arizona for three and a half years, and I think that first shock has stayed with me. But over the past …

NorCal: Land of Burney Falls, friendly towns and their churches, burns, geysers, floofy flowers, deep orange sunsets, heat, creeks, and deciduous trees mixed in with the pines. Mt. Shasta has been looming for ages like an awesome spirit, and now, suddenly, it is so close.

I hiked alone for a couple of days last week. The asters and lilies were my company and the soft pink sunsets caressed me to sleep.
I wasn’t sure what to expect of the PCT from South Lake Tahoe to Sierra City, but it has blown my mind.
